4 more months to go!!
On Friday, Justin and I had our first ultra-sound appointment at Sutter in Vallejo. I was so excited I didn't get much sleep the night before. We got up really early and headed to the hospital.
My bladder was full of all the water that I was instructed to drink before the ultra. By the time I was up--the radiologist allowed me to empty my bladder. Good thing too because I felt like peeing in my pants when I laughed. When I got back, I lifted up my tank top and she applied the ultra gel all over my basketball belly. She then pressed the roller device all around and I saw the first images of my baby.
The first site of my baby was an emotional experience! I felt like crying and laughing all at the same time. We found out we were wrong with our guess--we were having a baby boy! This little monster was very active, throwing his hands up as if he were at a Hiphop show! He was was kicking up his legs, chillin' on my bladder. From his profile, we could already see that he looked like his papa. Justin had this huge smile on his face and I knew he was feeling emotional as well. We watched the baby move and got to see different body parts and organs. His brain and heart was already developed. We saw his spine, kidneys and all! The best part about it was feeling his movements and at the same time watching exactly what he was doing. So I learned that everytime i felt that pinching pain--that was him kicking me on the right side :) He was moving so much he gave the radiologist a hard time taking measurements! What a little momo already!
After the appointment, we left with two photos of our son. We have one with his profile and another one of him waving one of his hands. Justin and I called our parents immediately to share our news and kept going with the calls...
It's funny how we felt after seeing our baby. It's one thing to feel him inside and another to see how he looks and to see what he is up to. Justin said, "I feel like how I did when we first found out that you were pregnant." And that is exactly how I felt and have been feeling since Friday--really excited and happy. Our due date is on January 6.
So, Justin and I decided to name him Miles. Miles Elacio Cadabes. I can't wait until I can hug this little boy so tight. I can't wait to chase him around the house...he's growing fast everyday. Ever since I hit 5 months, I've been getting rounder and rounder by the second, I swear.
Later on during the day, Justin and I went shopping. I bought some comfortable maternity jeans and capris on sale. And Justin bought a pair of Timbs from True for only $15. Before you know it, he'll have as many shoes as his uncles!

so why are you skinnier pregnant?!? i started showing daily at 5 months. growth was pretty visible...it was even more so the 7th month. i gained 40 lbs total but it only took a couple of weeks to go down to my pre-pregnancy weight because i was mostly filled with water...so...EAT AWAY! (my cloths are stilll tight regardless of the weight but hopefully that changes soon :) ).
