Luluʻs grandpa let the kids drive the boat! His first boat ride and he already got to handle the driving. It was a big deal for the kids. Miles took this job very seriously but had a lot of fun driving us in circles until he got the hang of it and learned how to steer the wheel straight, making turns when necessary.
The kids took turns driving the boat around the huge, beautiful blue lake. Every now and then, we would wave the orange flag to signal to the other boats that we were at a stop. And we would wade in the lake.
The other fun thing the kids got to do was go tubing. Miles was nervous at first and requested for his dad to go with him because "Mommy is chicken." Yes, even with a life vest I was still chicken. I seriously need to learn how to swim. Itʻs an important life skill!
Justin and Miles climbed into the tube. And once they were ready, they gave the signal for us to start the boat.
And they were off, bouncing on the waves we were creating!
Miles would give a thumbs up for us to go faster and a thumbs down to slow down. The whole while, Lulu was worried about him, reminding her grandpa, "Be careful! I donʻt want them to fall into the water." Sheʻs such a sweet girl!
Nene went tubing with Jordan and they were pros!
We took swim breaks in between water sports which was a lot of fun for the kids (and Justin).
It was fun just to chill under the sun, feeling the cool breeze whenever the boat was in motion.
We spent five hours, browning under the sun and it felt great! Give thanks for beautiful days and great friends to spend it with!
