Pillow Talk
Some of my favorite moments with Miles are in the morning when he wakes up all smiles, being full of energy, and also before bed as we are laying down in the dark, having conversations. Last night, we told him it was time for his bedtime so that we could go on our "homedate." He found that pretty amusing,"A homedate?!" I told him every night, when he goes to bed, his dad and I stay up a little longer to spend time with each other because it's just as important as when we spend time with him. He asked, "during the day time, you guys spend time with me?" "Yes," I replied, "when we don't have work to do, we are spending time with you." "Oh. So then at night, you just spend time with my daddy?" He asked, "Is that how the day goes? You work and spend time with me then I sleep and you spend time with daddy?" "Yes you're correct." I confirmed. Then he asked, "is that how everybody's day goes with all the kids? The whole earth?" Then he went back to the words: home date. "Why home date? Is it like home school? You just go on a date in our house?" And I told him, "well, we can't leave you by yourself while we go outside the house for a date!" He found this funny and then switched subjects to Box Jellyfishes and their toxins. These are the moments that I will definitely miss with my boy while he is in Hawaii for 2 weeks longer without us. But it will be great for his grandparents to share these moments with him too!

he is so precious. i think perci and i can take a lesson in "home dating" from you two. shoot, we can take a lesson on real dating from you two. i hope miles has a blast in hawai'i!!! what a blessed kid.
Girl, our home date is pretty much just our time to watch a movie in silence! ;) but seriously, couple time is so necessary! I get caught up in being a mom and need to remember who else I am. Hope u and Perci get breaks too! If I lived closer, I'd love to babysit your charming boy!
