Got the idea of recycling egg cartons into art projects from Scientopia and here's what Miles came up with:
Making a home for his angler fish & crab.
"I'm making waves in the deep sea."
After reading about the ocean and the creatures of the sea, we went on a day trip up the Sonoma coast with Aunty Jen & Dengs. The boys were super excited at first, sand toys, and a picnic packed...
Happy!
Happy!
...But we were not prepared for the 15 mph winds that gave the boys a whooping.
Not so happy.
While the ocean was blue and clear like the oceans of Hawaii, Miles declared, "I love the Hawaii beaches better! They are NOT windy like this!" Darrien and Miles were so upset with the wind and sand going into their eyes. Jen and I had to laugh about it. It was nice to explore outside of where we usually go and find new places only 45 minutes away. Before we left, Miles collected fragments of sea shells to bring home.
"Let's go now Aunty Jen!"

miles is sooo creative! and that beach looks beautiful! wind, though, will ruin a good beach trip. but yes, at least he always has hawai'i.
i'm loving the egg carton idea! tell him p says his angler is AWESOME.
